CalcVC
The maths behind a priced round.
A private iOS calculator for a priced round, bound returns, and optional modules.
Why it exists
The arithmetic of a priced round is simple, but it is usually locked inside somebody's spreadsheet. CalcVC states it plainly: pre-money plus investment gives post-money, and the investment's share of post-money gives the new investor's ownership and the existing holders' dilution. Enter an exit equity value and it also gives exit proceeds and MOIC. Nothing is hidden behind a black box.
What it feels like
A quiet instrument rather than a finance app. It opens on the calculator — no onboarding carousel, no account, no sign-in. Numbers update as you type, set in tabular digits so decimals line up. An expandable "Show maths" panel states the formula and how the current figures produce the result. Results are never coloured as good or bad, and nothing about a calculation is presented as a prediction, a guarantee, or advice.
How it works
Everything is calculated and stored on the device. There is no account, no Nuvvya server behind the calculator, no advertising and no third-party tracking, and the core calculator works offline. Named scenarios are saved locally on that device only, with no iCloud sync. Currency choices are labels — USD, EUR, GBP, INR, CHF, CAD, AUD, SGD, AED and JPY — with no exchange-rate conversion.
Where it stops
Optional modules add share counts, one option pool, one SAFE, years and IRR, a fund sketch, a one-class preference, and an ownership split. Empty modules stay inactive. CalcVC still does not model multiple SAFEs, multiple preferred classes, fees, taxes, foreign exchange, or a full cap table. It is a calculation and educational tool — not a cap-table manager, portfolio tracker, forecasting tool or advice product — and it is a free iPhone and iPad app with no in-app purchases, on the App Store.
